How to Cancel Your autoforward Subscription on iPhone

autoforward Pro is sold as an in-app purchase, which means Apple handles the billing, not us. Because of that, we cannot cancel a subscription for you — and you won't find a cancel button inside the app. Instead, you cancel it in Apple's subscription management, which takes about a minute.

The steps below are done on the iPhone that is signed in to the Apple Account you used to buy the subscription.

1. Open the App Store

Find the App Store icon on your home screen and tap it. (Careful: this is not the "Apple Store" app, which is Apple's shopping app.)

2. Tap Your Profile Picture

In the top right corner of the App Store, tap your profile picture or initials. This opens your Apple Account panel.

3. Tap "Subscriptions"

In the Apple Account panel, tap Subscriptions.

4. Select the autoforward Subscription

Under Active, tap the entry named autoforward: Forward SMS. It shows your current plan (for example "Pro Monthly") and the next renewal date.

If you don't see it in the list, jump to I can't find the subscription below.

5. Tap "Cancel Subscription" and Confirm

On the subscription detail screen, tap the red button at the bottom, then confirm in the dialog that appears.

The button is labelled Cancel Subscription for a paid subscription and Cancel Free Trial while you're still in the 7-day trial — the screenshot below shows the trial case. Either way it does the same thing.

That's it — the cancellation takes effect immediately, and no further payment will be taken.

How to Check That It Worked

Go back to the same screen (App Store → profile picture → Subscriptions). The autoforward entry now moves from Renews on … to Expires on … and, once the date has passed, into the Inactive section. If it still says "Renews", the cancellation didn't go through — repeat step 5.

Apple also sends a confirmation email to the address of your Apple Account.

What Happens After You Cancel

  • You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling stops the renewal; it does not cut access short. If your subscription renews on 11 August, Pro stays active until then.
  • After that, your account falls back to the free plan — forwarding keeps working, but with the free limits of 5 forwards per day and 15 per month.
  • Your shortcuts and settings stay untouched. Nothing is deleted, and if you resubscribe later, everything continues where it left off.
  • Cancelling a free trial works exactly the same way. Do it at least 24 hours before the trial ends, otherwise Apple charges the first period.

Alternative Route: Through the Settings App

You can reach the same screen without the App Store:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name at the very top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Continue with step 4 above.

On a Mac, you'll find it under App Store → Account Settings → Manage next to Subscriptions. You can also open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions in a browser.

I Can't Find the Subscription

If autoforward doesn't show up in your list of subscriptions, one of these is usually the reason:

  • You're signed in with a different Apple Account. Subscriptions belong to the Apple Account that bought them, not to the device. Check the account name at the top of the Subscriptions screen and switch if needed.
  • It was bought through Family Sharing. In that case, the family organiser has to cancel it from their own device.
  • It's already cancelled. Scroll down to the Inactive section — a cancelled subscription that hasn't expired yet appears there with its expiry date.

Refunds

Refunds are also handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, and pick the autoforward purchase. Apple decides on the refund; we have no way to issue or influence it.

Still Stuck?

If something doesn't add up — or if you're cancelling because autoforward isn't doing what you expected — get in touch. We'd genuinely like to hear what went wrong.
